Condition Improvement Funding

MACE DAVIES ~ CHARTERED BUILDING SURVEYORS ~ DARTFORD, KENT

In the last quarter of 2019, Mace Davies worked with academies, sixth form colleges and non-diocesan voluntary aided schools to assist them in their applications for Condition Improvement Funding (CIF), an annual bidding round for eligible schools to apply for capital funding.

The funds are available to keep education provider buildings safe and in good working order, including funding projects to address health and safety issues, building compliance and poor building conditions. Eligible outstanding and good rated schools that can express a need to expand can also apply for expansion funding.

You can find details of 2020 to 2021 projects that were appropriate for funding and the selection criteria in the link below:

Condition Improvement Fund 2020 to 2021: information for applicants.

You will see that the criteria favoured bids from applicants with strong governance and detailed design and good financial management where competitive costs have been obtained. There appears to be a strong link between trusts with a good grip on finance and governance and effective, value for money capital delivery.

The Condition Improvement Fund 2020 to 2021 is now closed for applications and the applicants will be notified of the outcome in the spring of 2020. At an early stage, we can undertake a detailed planned maintenance survey of your stock to identify possible favourable bids over the upcoming years.
